On January 24, 2025, the second edition, revised and expanded, of the book Artesan\u00eda No Prato was presented at FITUR.<\/p>

Galicia is a territory rich in biodiversity and culture, something that is reflected in its gastronomy and in an enviable artisan legacy. Uniting these two worlds is a winning bet.<\/p>

This wealth is reflected today more than ever in its gastronomy. Galician cuisine is constantly evolving, but without losing its essence. It is an open cuisine, without complexes, full of deep flavors, looking to the future, without forgetting its roots, always exalting its products.<\/p>

Crafts invite us to \u201cthink with our hands.\u201d We cannot consider it only as an economic sector, but as the reflection of a thousand-year-old history, a bridge between biodiversity and culture. \u201cThinking with your hands\u201d is knowing how to appreciate all the richness of our food, our cuisine, our table.<\/p>

Art and gastronomy are a fundamental part of Galician culture and pillars of its tourist appeal, two growing sectors whose collaboration places Galicia at the epicentre of gastronomic and artisan quality, achieving a perfect pairing.<\/p>

The book Artesan\u00eda No Prato is a project of the Public Foundation of Crafts of Galicia.<\/p>

The search for excellence in the presentation of dishes is something that also concerns chefs. You don’t win over diners just by taste, but you have to win them over from the first impact, the visual one.<\/p>

Chefs look for tableware that matches their gastronomy, dishes that speak the same language as their culinary creations and that help make the dining experience almost religious. But where do they go? Who are the artisan ceramists and designers that the best chefs in our territory fall for?<\/p>

Galicia has it easy. It has a good pool of artisans who collaborate with the chefs with whom they have created relationships of trust.<\/p>

La F\u00e1brica<\/a> has published ‘Handmade Spain’, a volume designed as a guide created in conjunction with Cervezas Alhambra<\/a>, which surveys our country’s crafts through a carefully chosen selection of craft ateliers and enterprises.<\/p>

This is the first guide in a single volume that compiles a selection of the best examples of artisan work in Spain. It claims a place of honour for artisans in the universe of design.<\/p>

The relationship between crafts and design is one of the cornerstones of this book, which offers readers the chance to discover a new dimension of crafts.
